What we eat affects how we live and what we achieve. Registered Nutritional Therapist, change management expert and coach Rachel Martino helps organisations and individuals discover the path to optimum health and performance.
Small changes can make the biggest difference. Rachel’s personal journey to vitality through nutrition led her to earn a three-year diploma in Nutritional Therapy. She went on to train in functional medicine, a systems-biology, patient-centred approach, grounded in the latest scientific research. Functional medicine takes into account the impact of genetics, nutrition and lifestyle on overall wellness. It combines Western and complementary therapies to promote optimum health.
Rachel also holds an MBA and has worked as an operations manager in corporate, academic and public sector settings. This gives her a unique insight into the challenges of change. “There is a growing awareness of the importance of nutrition at an individual and institutional level,” she says. “A lot of people know they should eat better but they don’t know why or how.”
Filling this knowledge gap is key to improving individual and organisational performance. Hospitals, universities, and corporations have a duty of care to their employees and clients. They also have a responsibility to be as efficient and productive as possible, which requires a thriving workforce. “Educating people about evidence-based nutrition addresses both these needs,” says Rachel. “It is a simple, effective strategy for empowering individual and collective growth.”
Rachel is a sought after speaker, coach and change management consultant. In addition to giving talks, running workshops, and developing organisational change strategies, Rachel practices Nutritional Therapy at the We Own Wellbeing clinic in Battersea. “The core principle of all my work is that Nutrition is the cornerstone of wellness,” she says. “When people discover good nutrition they feel empowered. They feel more themselves. It is liberating.”
